La Costa Adult School (LCAS) offers six different levels of
English as a Second Language (ESL).
Our ESL classes are focused on teaching adult students conversational English, as well as basic reading and writing that can be used in social and community situations. We have 5 levels of classes, including a level for students with little to no experience in reading or writing in their primary language. Students can choose to attend 2 days a week or 4 days a week. Classes will begin on Tuesday, September 5th. Registration is ongoing so students can join our classes at any time. When registering, you will be evaluated for which level is most appropriate for you.

**NEW** Adult Basic Education: English
For students that are looking to learn English that is more formal and academic in nature, as would be used in either a college classroom or in a formal office setting, we recommend our Adult Basic Education class. This class is focused more heavily on reading and writing, with an eye toward essay and report writing. These classes are 4 days a week, Monday through Thursday, 6pm to 8:30pm and attendance is mandatory. Students that complete this course will be prepared for participation in college level courses, or workforce training programs.
